THE PARTY

We are proud and excited to announce today
on a day marked forever in British political history by a significant event
05 November 20
our initiative to launch the newest political party to form in the UK
We believe in time it will lead to the formation
of similar and affiliated parties in other countries of the world

This site is a platform for THE PEOPLE COUNCIL – The Party

INTRODUCTION
Although The People Council is establishing as a political party, it will be a party to end all parties at the seat of UK government in Westminster, London, England.

Its formation was first conceived some years ago arising from a dissatifaction with the role, the process and the effect - or indeed the lack in effect - of both government and parliament.  It was a conception which gained gravity in the minds of its founders due to events which eventually came to a head in 2016 - events which involved the nation's  relationship with its immediate neighbours in the European Union.

With the world media looking on, the UK population witnessed at close hand the appalling handling of the BREXIT issue by the incumbent parliamentarians.  Following what was an uncontested poll of the People in the 2016 People’s Referendum

- concerning how the People of the UK wished to relate to our fellow Europeans in the future -

successive leading politicians could hardly have made the process of dealing with BREXIT more heart-wrenching, or even maddening.
Such as it was for pretty much all those that followed the unfolding and torturous story - particularly those directly or indirectly affected by it.

Whilst the issue of BREXIT has still to be put to bed, that subject has been downgraded within almost everyone’s agenda by that new topic: Covid-19.

It is in effect, the very same politicians and their handling of this new topic, which has prompted the formation of a new political way of life.

SO WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?

We believe the current system of politics is now well and truly outdated.
The time has arrived for a complete reorganisation of how politics is done in this country, as well as - we believe - in other countries too.

The UK has been plagued by a two-tier political system for centuries with the two major parties exchanging position on a regular basis.  That is, one tier controlling – in POWER as they call it – with the second contesting, waiting for that same POWER to be returned.  This system for organising politics, by definition, is not only limiting in scope, but is closed against freedom to develop.  It is both limited and closed due to it being based on short-term planning for the two parties – rather than long-term planning for those they are in place to serve - the People.

The very word POWER produces a totally wrong mindset for us.  Administration should not be about power, UNLESS we are talking about the power of the People.

The result of the above system is a seesaw of approaches to national administration, with a political swing in one direction followed by the inevitable swing in the opposite at the following election.

And with that following election comes the tantalising short-term plans presented to the electorate to maximise votes.  This is coupled in equal measure by criticism of all that went wrong with the previous party in that position of POWER.  There is little if anything presented in the form of solid national planning for the long-term – built on a consensus of opinion across the broadest of churches.  There is little even said - much less questioned - with respect to where the country should be headed for all our futures.

And by our futures, we The People Council, place huge importance upon the futures of our children, their children and their children’s children.

When we agree on where we are going, the detail always falls into place.
Where a bowman points the tip of an arrow,
the feathers will naturally follow.

This is what an intelligent Grown-Up society will be doing anywhere else in the universe – but currently - not here - not yet.

Accordingly, what this historical system has NEVER delivered for the People, due to its unserving and outdated nature, includes the following:

  • stability and gradual gaining of strength in a vibrant thriving economy

  • first-class education and healthcare system, building year on year

  • social system which supports those People in need of support

  • social system that helps People quickly recover from setback

  • home for everyone and everyone in a place they call home

  • equalisation of the opportunities available to everyone

  • smoothing of the extreme divides between levels of wealth

  • progression in sound and tangible international development

  • shared vision for the future with an agreed plan for decades ahead

Another key reason for why.

We cannot leave this topic without giving light to another weakness of the current system.  This weakness is one which has been all too clearly exposed this very year.  In fact, an example was clearly spotlighted in the British parliament just yesterday - 04nov20 - where MPs debated legislation to enact national lockdown 2.

Here we refer to Covid-19, probably an event and ongoing saga turning rapidly, and probably, into the most significant event of this century.  And that is not because of the virus itself, so much as how current politicians have decided to deal with it.  Founders of The People Council have researched volumes of data and information on this subject and much of the material examined has been documented within the pages on this site.

The work conducted has resulted in a clear determination – which is this:
If only 5% of the data and information examined were proved to be 100% factually correct, then there would be enough reason to conduct a full Independent People's Inquiry into the government’s strategy and its advisory sources, upon which that strategy has been based.

Our own assertion, however, is that the volume of corroborating data and information examined, far exceeds the 5% mentioned above.

The weakness in our government and parliamentary system is the clear and undeniable lack of transparency – whether that lack involves same party back-bench members – the opposition parties and their members – parliament in general and, not least, the People of the UK.

This lack of transparency in government dealings is, however, not limited to Covid-19 as we highlight.  Of course not; since it extends to many subjects across a spectrum of themes, spreading over decades of time.
The Covid-19 theme though
is certainly our most recent of examples.

So, a change – a root and branch change – is now called for to correct for these failings of the past.  A change in fact that will set the country on a new, vibrant, People orientated path - stemming from a new approach to our national administration.

It will be an administration free of party politics

and any form of ruling elite,

but, instead - founded on a consensus of all the People for all the People.

A NEW BEGINNING AND A CLEAN SWEEP
Above we identify just some of the primary failings of the current and historical political system.  A new political party on the block – by itself – is naturally not the solution.  Instead, what is required is a complete sweep through of that system, replacing it with a system predicated on a completely revised approach.  In fact, a revised approach formulated on a clean sheet of white paper – open to thought from all contributors,  and contributors representing, as they will, the broadest of viewpoints.

Very simply put, it will address:

  • how planning is conducted,

  • how decisions are reached and

  • how those decisions are implemented

ALL of which places the People and their interests middle and centre

In practical terms then.

The primary objective of The People Council is to contest every parliamentary seat in the country for the purpose of gaining a majority of seats in parliament.  In fairness, all new and fledgling political parties have said something similar before and, alas, history has proved that it has all come to nothing.  So, what is different now?

TPC%20Pexels.Fluffy%20Clouds.iconcom-009

What is different now are two important and key facts:

1.    Historically, the UK – and indeed the wider world – has long experienced the failings of the current political system.  The reality has been that the People have felt powerless to change that system – being bound by the long-held tradition and constraints of only having a choice between just two major ideologies – Left, Right, Blue, Red etc etc.
In basic terms, the choice laid before the People could hardly have been more limited and limiting.  The effects of this has now come into sharp focus and the population we believe is recognising it in a way not done before.

2.    Currently, the Covid-19 situation has shown up all too clearly, not just the failings of government BUT, the failings of parliament itself to hold the government to account.  The People have seen - even this very week – how the opposition parties have acquiesced and failed at almost every opportunity to properly challenge the government over its Covid-19 policies.  For example, despite clear and obvious findings in the public domain which contradict the government's narrative, NO evidence of any challenge to it has surfaced prior to this very week.  The challenge has needed to be against the statistical data and scientific evidence which, for almost ten months now, has been sold to parliament by a small, tight and select group of government ministers.

The events of the recent past and those we now experience daily, have brought us to the verge of a new dawn.  It is our firm belief that the People of the UK are now more than ready for a complete change of the political system based upon what they have witnessed and endured.  That is, what they have witnessed and unduly endured over many years, not least now, at this very moment, witnessing as they are the events unfolding daily in their faces.

Some key objectives.

We have referred above to a party to end all parties at Westminster.
This is exactly the agenda for The People Council.
The formation of the party is the FIRST goal.

SECOND - winning party support among the People of the UK
THIRD - be awarded the honour to represent the People in parliament
FOURTH - reverse legislation introduced restricting human freedoms
FIFTH - initiate a ground-breaking change in politics
SIXTH - end party politics through legislation
SEVENTH - introduce all MPs at Westminster as independents
EIGHTH - disband The People Council as a political party on goal achievement

A note about future MPs.

Each independent representative will align, as standard protocol, with the operational and guiding principles agreed by the People for the People.

And after.

The People Council itself shall remain as a People’s Movement to lead and hold the mantle for the guiding principles upon which The People Council was formed.

THE NEAR FUTURE
Over the coming weeks and months, The People Council will outline its guiding principles and offer them for discussion among its founder membership.  The same founding members will be invited to submit their thoughts and opinions on what changes they would wish to see, being changes grown from, and out of, a new political system.  The invitations will include calls for thoughts and opinions on specific changes each member would like to see, want to see, tabled and subsequently adopted for inclusion within policies to be followed.

Anyone and everyone will be invited to be a founder member of this new and refreshing movement for change - called The People Council.
And that is everyone from our most senior of citizens – with a wealth of experience of life, gained from and through their living history...

to almost our youngest of citizens – who have an ability to see things freshly, without complication, unchained by a mindset which so often dictates to older citizens a limiting belief that something cannot be done.

The process of building policy - the first steps taken toward building and evolving a consensus of the People - will commence with clean sheets of white paper coupled with the freedom of clear blue sky thinking.

Time for this change has never been more ripe
The People have never been more ready

The People Council has not arrived to take part in politics
The guiding principles of The People Council
have arrived to take over politics
